It’s always a treat to photograph this family and I was so excited to check out this new location with them (Grandview Nature Preserve in Hampton). As baby boy moves into toddlerhood, photo shoots are little bit more chaotic and fluid (a necessity when you’re at the will of an 18 month old), but the photos are so worth it, I mean, come on, that glow is stunning!!
B Family Pregnancy Announcement
So fun to meet new people and get to be a part of such a special time in their lives. You might think that these photos were taken during the recent warm weather we’ve been having, but nope, it was freezing! I was bundled up in a long coat and boots but these two braved the windy seaside (or bay-side as this was at Fort Monroe), and you would never know how cold it was based on how they are glowing!
Congratulations to them as they prepare to welcome their first little one!
A Surprise Proposal
When a friend’s boyfriend messages you for help with proposing, the answer is always yes! Not only did I get to be a part of such a big event in my friends’ lives, but I also got to use it as an excuse to finally purchase a new camera (full frame + mirrorless = HUGE upgrade!). I’ve photographed a proposal before using my old camera but its been several years and my old camera was getting slower and slower, I didn’t want to risk missing the big moment! Plus, the new camera served as a great excuse to plan a photoshoot so I could “try” it out and get the couple in the perfect spot to recreate this picture of the couple below (not my photo) that was the inspiration for where the proposal took place.
So thankful that everything came together perfectly and we were able to recreate that picture while the proposal was happening. Lots of fun and exploring Fort Monroe followed, take a look!
